Are you a resident of Paris Mountain, or an occasional visitor?
Are you a cyclist, a motorcyclist, or a runner who uses Altamont Road?
We're working to improve the safety of Altamont Road.
Please help us.

Most accidents on Paris Mountain are caused by non-resident drivers who don't anticipate Altamont Road's twists and turns. Thick fog can form quickly due to the mountain's unique micro-climate (it's the only specially-designated environmentally sensitive district in South Carolina), but accidents happen even on clear sunny days.
The Park Service has proposed adding another entrance to Paris Mountain State Park - on Altamont Road - and that could significantly increase our daily traffic (there are more than half a million visitors to the Park each year) and lead to more accidents like this one where, thankfully, no pedestrians or cyclists were involved.
ARSA was established by a group of Paris Mountain residents concerned about the safety of Altamont Road. As Greenville's popularity and population has grown, so has the number of enthusiasts of all kinds who visit Paris Mountain regularly, as well as the number of accidents that occur on Altamont Road.
We want to reduce the number of near-misses and accidents on Altamont Road by:
Are you part of a local cycling or running club, and would you be willing to help spread the word?
Would you be willing to make a donation to ARSA to support these efforts?
Or do you have ideas or suggestions that you'd like to share with us? If so, please contact us.
